Nat Geo Wild Cancel Dog Whisperer
After more than 150 episodes, 9 seasons, and a huge following Cesar Millan told Facebook that the final season of ‘Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan’ will premiere Saturday, July 7, 2012, with back-to-back episodes beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nat Geo WILD. The final season features 12 all-new episodes.
“I am so thankful to all the Dog Whisperer fans that embraced the show over the years and made it such a huge success,” said Cesar. “It was bittersweet filming the final episodes, but they are a lot of fun and turned out to be some of the best cases ever. And to my biggest fans, never fear, you haven’t seen the last of me yet!”
Cesar Millan and Nat Geo Wild are proud to announce a new 12-part series called ‘Leader of the Pack’ starring Cesar Millan, in replace of Dog Wisperer with Cesar Millan. In the new series, Millan combats the global issue of canine abandonment, giving ‘unadoptable’ dogs a second chance and coaching families from across Europe who are vying for the opportunity to adopt lucky pups.
“All dogs deserve a second chance; an opportunity to thrive in a stable and balanced environment,” said Millan. “Giving these dogs the ability to live a happy and healthy life with a new family is the greatest reward to working with canines, and I am thrilled to work with Nat Geo Wild on this global partnership.”
Reactions were mixed which is no surprise given the controversy surrounding some of the training methods used by Millan. Positive trainers opposed to his techniques are happy to witness the show’s demise and Nat Geo Wild cancel ‘Dog Whisperer’, but adoring fans said they wanted the popular series to continue.
