We brought our dog here on the recommendation of friends. Our German Shepherd was difficult to control, somewhat neurotic, and had a few bad habits when we brought her for her 6-week training. During the initial consultation he finds out what the dog’s issues are so everyone is on the same page. Jason worked with her an extra week just to make sure her training was complete. He does a one hour visit when you pick up the dog to review the commands he teaches them. She was much better when we got her home, and the follow up visits are really the key because he trains the human parents to be able to have a successful relationship with their dog. After about three months of follow up visits and home practice sessions, we have a completely different dog! She is obedient, controllable, and a pleasure to be around. The price seems high but it was worth it for us. Jason is an expert at reading dog body language and he really wants each dog to succeed. The only negative thing I could say is that sometimes email/text communication took awhile, but he told us that up front.

No one loves an animal, especially a dog, more than Jason Rae. I have watched him over the years transform lost, rejected, and death row dogs into family loving pets. He uses a very positive, reward, not punishment based method that coaxes a dog into wanting to do good and knowing the difference between good and bad behavior. He has literally put his life on the line for some of these dogs as he has been attacked by vicious pits that he has patiently mellowed and turned into loving and secure pets again. We took our sweet but challenging dog, Bodie, for the 3 week board and train. He is a very sweet, loving dog but rather bratty. Jason worked him with repetition, kindness and firmness in his commands. Bodie was a handful to say the least. We were amazed at his transformation and how well he follows commands now. I’m so glad my vet referred me to Jason at InsideOut Dog Training. He’s gentle, truly loves animals, and was effective with my little dog.

I’d had a car accident with her in the car, and though she was physically fine, she’d been traumatized. Jason worked with her like a dog psychologist. He had me implement baby steps to bring her around and get over her fears. He also tightened up my prior leash and basic training. Hoss just finished his last, private, six course lesson. We rescued Hoss from a local shelter, for a while we were not sure if we could handle Hoss, physically and mentally. I’ve shown in AKC obedience in the past, and I knew we needed extra help. Jason gave us behavior modification tools, for resource guarding. Lots of homework, from simple walking on leash, stays and recalls, Jason added more tools for us to work with during our lesson as Hoss progressed with leaps and bounds.

With Jason’s help, Hoss can be with my cat, walk calmly with the chickens, visit Big Bear hiking and we even had a dock diving lesson from another trainer. Hoss is a safer dog, he’ll be with us forever. We have learned so much from the behavior aspect of dog training.

Jason is an amazing trainer. His genuine love for dogs is what sold us when we first met with him. We started out with an 8 week old Blue Heeler and he is now 16 weeks old. We can’t believe how much he has learned and how well behaved he is. Jason’s lessons are very easy to follow and he doesn’t move on to the next command until we have mastered the prior lessons. Since his classes are all private he is able to make sure we know the new lessons perfectly before going home. I highly recommend InsideOut dog training, Jason is awesome. I have a 2-3 year old German Shepherd that I rescued from the AV shelter in May. We have two beautiful standard poodles. We bought one before the other and our first Poodle her name is Miss Coco Chanel. She is brilliant, trainable, lovable doggie. She really likes to jump, and her energy was nonstop attack the cat, but not in any hurtful way just in a playful way, but just nonstop so we decided to take her to doggy training school at Inside Out, Dog Training. Her training was in will be with the owner Jason. Whom by the way is a highly educated man that I would almost call a dog whisperer amongst other things he is incredible.

We did a 30 day Boot Camp because we really needed to make sure that what Jason taught her would be a solid foundation for when she came home in regards to no jumping and bringing down the high energy down to more stable, calm type of energy with that said, after the 30 day training class, we picked up our Beautiful Miss Coco Chanel, and she was transformed you won’t believe it. It’s as if we got back a different dog 😊 she is calm, respectful does not crave our attention not to mention she-does not attack our our kitty In any manner at all! She has become respectful and calm.

I would recommend Jason and Inside Out, Dog Training, to all my friends colleagues and anyone who needs are would like to have their dog properly trained. I recently had the pleasure of enrolling my 5-month-old Pitbull in the board & train program at InsideOut Dog Training, and I must say, the experience exceeded my expectations in every way.

Our family is so thankful for InsideOut Dog Training. We brought our 5 month old quarantine pup in with us for a consultation after hearing wonderful things from a friend. At the time we were thinking private lessons for our extra barking, extra skittish, yellow Labrador. After meeting with Jason and seeing his knowledge at work we decided to go with a board and train and we couldn’t be more pleased. I truly believe that any training with Jason and his staff would be valuable, but for our family we wanted (needed) to see real change real fast. That is exactly what we received. Jason and his wife went above and beyond for our family and mostly for our dog, Watson. He is so much better behaved. The barking has essentially stopped, he no longer jumps on the kids to play, he listens and is attentive, and most of all he has changed from the skittish, fearful of everything pup to one who enjoys playtime with the other dogs and people. We were looking for a dog trainer who would use positive reinforcement rather than fear training with our stray rescue dog. Having no real prior knowledge of our dog, it was important that we build a trusting, healthy relationship rather than one built out of intimidation. Jason gave us just that! One issue we were having with our dog was serious separation anxiety. Our dog would chew everything and anything while we were gone. Within the first two training sessions, we were taught enough to help our dog completely overcome his separation anxiety. We no longer worry about him hurting himself while we are not home. I can not begin to explain how grateful I am for Jason, his family and his colleagues at insideout dog training. I have a Dalmatian puppy. And for those who do not know. They can be very difficult and are known to have an aggressive streak to them. My puppy was no exception to that. I was worried that when I enrolled him into training he would be subjected methods such as prong collars, bark collars and methods of intimidation. But Jason created a bond with my puppy with out those methods, a bond so good it’s to the point where my puppy cries to go to day care because he loves them so much. Jason is THE trainer to go to where the only equipment you need is a good leash and patience. He does an awesome job teaching your dog basic tricks and trust to lead you to whichever outcome you expect, in my case being able to be off leash. I’m sharing my experience in hopes that it helps other people make their decision easier when choosing a dog trainer. I have a sweet goldendoodle puppy that was 5 months old when I was seeking training for her. She was overly hyper , horrible to walk with, jumped on everyone and was very mouthy and even nipped at my toddler several times. I had this feeling she would eventually bite my son if we didn’t get help soon. I had a few other consultations elsewhere with trainers who used shock collars and prong collars and that was not something I was looking for. My consultation with Jason made me feel at ease. He told me the methods he uses and how training would be with my puppy, he does not use shock collars or prong collars. He is truly gifted at what he does and it’s obvious he cares for these dogs as if they were his own. I signed up for the 4 week board and train and it was the best decision I could have made . She’s been home for a few weeks now and I have been keeping up with my training homework Jason gave me and what a difference my family sees in her. She no longer jumps on us, she has not once mouthed or nipped anyone in our home. My toddler can pull on her ears and hug her and not once will she open her mouth. I no longer have the fear of her biting him. Walks are enjoyable now, she struggles from time to time with the pulling, but it’s a work in progress and now I know how to correct her because of Jason’s help and the knowledge he gave me. I’m no longer stressed out having a 7 month old puppy in my house. I am more than confident my puppy will hold on to this training and I highly recommend Inside Out training to anyone who is considering!

So far I’ve been nothing but impressed with Jason and his wife Jenna, at inside out dog training! We did the 3-week board and train with our 5-month-old Australian Shepherd and she is just an amazing little dog. We noticed a beautiful difference after we picked her up (she was already a little angel when we dropped her off). She has transitioned well into our home with the transition help and guidance of inside out dog training. I worked with canine teams as a military policeman in the army and later as a civilian police officer and I can tell you Jason knows his stuff. We brought our dog Addy in for a puppy board and train. She was already an awesome dog but she definitely needed some work, and I tried but she’s smart and could tell I didn’t know what I was doing, and believe me, I tried. Our biggest concern was her jumping and playing too rough with our children. We have seen such a positive change in her! Jason was amazing and very knowledgeable about dog behavior. He went over how to keep up her training, he talked about what we do and why and has answered follow up questions and we have follow up appointments. We have been training our Daisy with Jason since she was old enough to go. She is now two and has also attended their daycare for socialization. We know that she will be able to play with dogs that have been prescreened for temperament. It has been helpful as she suffers from separation anxiety and can be a little fearful sometimes. Jason has been great with her and has given us great techniques for her training. She has earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate from AKC and can only improve with more training. Jason did a great job training puppies. Well, at least in the first level class, the purpose is to socialize puppies, where I like the environment and the way Jason teaches. He gave many useful advises during class. My puppy did change from a shy girl to a relatively “crazy” but still friendly girl. The only thing I think can be improved is the class time. After just 6 training sessions he was no longer fearful of people and was extremely well behaved. He is proof that positive reinforcement training does work on large breed dogs. Working with Jason was great he is extremely knowledgeable about the training and the science behind it. He is always willing to help and can answer any questions you have.
